10 Days - VIETNAM INSIGHT

Urban Hanoi retains its strong French colonial flavour, the lovely lakes is a great contrast with the labyrinth of alleys in Old Hanoi and arts is also seeing a renaissance in the Vietnamese capital. A drive away, Halong Bay boasts spectacular limestone peaks. Central Vietnam is home to three UNESCO sites – Hue, Hoi An and My Son. Hue, an ancient capital city bears many cultural heritages. The ancient town of Hoi An is an exceptionally well-preserved example of a South-East Asian trading port dating from the 15th to 19th century. My Son was a centre for spirituality and worship during the reign of the Champa Kingdom. Also commonly referred to as Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City is a bustling, dynamic and industrial centre, the largest city in the country, the economic capital and the cultural trendsetter. Yet within the teeming metropolis are the timeless traditions and beauty of an ancient culture. Old French colonial buildings exist side by side with narrow alleys bustling with new entrepreneurial spirits. An excursion to Cu Chi Tunnel also gives one introduction to the rough encounter the country had with the Americans…
