11 Days - Vietnam for Foodies

The private culinary tour helps you explore Vietnam’s finest cuisine and gives you the chance to taste authentic Vietnam food. The tour starts in Hanoi with a Vietnamese food expert showing you some of the country’s finest cooking ingredients. You will get to try food throughout the tour as you stop at multiple places to eat. On another day you will join a famous local chef at a market and then learn how to cook during a detailed class. You will be lucky enough to learn how to prepare some of Vietnam’s basic recipes, including lemon chicken and banana flower salad.

As you start your private tour in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, your very own personal guide and driver will show you some of the city’s most popular tourist attractions. This includes visiting the Temple of Literature, One Pillar Pagoda, House on Stilts, and Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. You will also have the option of touring the Old Quarter, the site where streets are dedicated to historical trade materials like silk, lacquer and bamboo.
These small and narrow streets carry a lot of history and ancient architecture. In the area are unique cafes and boutiques that will truly give you the taste of Vietnam. Guests on the tour can choose to take a cyclo ride around Hoan Kiem Lake and see some of Vietnam’s most beautiful French-colonial buildings – many of which have been transformed into restaurants.

After touring Hanoi we will take you to Halong Bay for an overnight cruise. On this trip you will get to visit islands, eat fresh seafood, and experience a number of activities while on board the cruise. During the day out at sea you have the option of exploring caves, hiking beaches, and kayaking.

Next you will have two nights in Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam. Here you’ll have the luxury of touring the Imperial Citadel that includes the Forbidden Purple City. This is the site where the emperor and his family lived. The Perfume River offers tourists views of gardens and some of Vietnam’s finest traditional architecture. The Dong Ba Market is a popular stop for guests and if you desire you can try some of Hue’s famous vegetarian cuisine. If you love vegetarian food this is one stop you certainly don’t want to miss. Upon request we can help schedule other activities, including lunch with monks and visits to an ancient Buddhist pagoda.

The tour then takes you to Hoi An where you can stay at a high class beachfront hotel. Here you can enjoy local markets, small backstreets, and tour historic structures like homes, temples and the Japanese Covered Bridge. Hoi An is well known for its silk clothing and local tailors are available for custom fittings.

Other popular attractions include the Museum of Cham Sculpture and the Marble Mountains. These mountains are noted for their Buddhist cave temples. Additional activities are available upon request and include visiting local villages, learning to make Vietnamese cuisine, and taking an excursion to My Son – the ancient ruins of the Cham civilizations. You will have plenty of time to relax and experience the hotel as well.
Your trip will come to an end in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). Here you can experience Cholon, Saigon’s Chinatown, and various markets. Guests on the tour will be able to buy authentic gifts like spices, flowers, clothes, and home supplies. There are numerous boutiques in the area that offer Vietnam’s current fashion trends and we encourage people to buy so they have souvenirs to take home. If you want you can tour the Cu Chi Tunnels of the countryside and visit the Cao Dai Temple.
