Organizing Accessible trips in Vietnam
For accessible tours in Vietnam, we are highly aware of the inaccessibility of hotels, means of transport, tourist attractions, and public facilities. There are no autos or vans with typical lifts for wheelchairs. There are no accessible boats or piers. Most tourist attractions have rough walking paths and many steps but no accessible toilets. Most hotels do not have real accessible rooms. To solve this inaccessible problem, we use vans of 16 seats with low floor and wide door which give easy access to the seats. We use boats with large floor for wheelchairs. We use ramps where available or man power to lift wheelchair-travelers. We use spacious bed rooms with low beds and large doors, long-cord shower and plastic chair in the bathroom to take a shower.

Our accessible holidays:
- We have done accessible tours successfully in Vietnam. We sensibly choose most accessible and interesting tourist sites.
- There are must-do tours which are not accessible such as a Halong Bay boat tour, a Mekong river boat tour, the Cu Chi Tunnels. We adjust the programs and activities so that the people can overcome inaccessibility, have panoramic views and general vies of the sites, bring them as far as possible by boat or van, reduce their moving on rough paths as much as possible or provide the services right in front of them.

Our terms and conditions:
- When taking an accessible tour with us, disabled tourists need to bear in mind that Vietnam is not accessible friendly countries.
- We can take disabled people on manual wheelchairs only. Each disabled tourist is required to have a helper or he/she must be able to manage around by himself/herself.
- Travelling with Ethnic Voyage requires a certain measure of flexibility and understanding that the itinerary, accommodation and modes of transport may be changed due to circumstances beyond our control. Ethnic Voyage has the responsibility to make necessary changes without liability.

- We aim to make tours that are accessible, safe and enjoyable for disabled tourists
- In our tours, disabled tourists will participate in as many activities as able bodied tourists do.
- We would raise the awareness that despite the lack of accessible facilities in Vietnam, disabled tourists have the right to travel well and safe.

After having successfully organized many tours for able bodied travelers and deaf travelers, we have tried to expand our range of tours by offering accessible tours for disable travelers. Although Vietnam has not been a disable friendly destination yet due to the fact that there are not sufficient facilities for disable travelers in terms of transportation with wheelchair lifts, proper hotel accessible rooms, accessible ramps at tourist sites or public areas, etc, we have tried our best to make it work. We have inspected and chosen the most accessible hotels, mostly of 4 star and 5 star hotels. We build portable ramps to use from place to place. In the tour programs, we consider good places that are interesting and accessible enough for the guests to visit. We design appropriate itineraries with logical timing and ordering for sightseeing, relaxing, health treatments of massage and spa, and shopping. We also choose good accessible restaurants outside of hotels where possible (mostly lunches), or people can have meals in the hotels (mostly dinners). Our goal is always a safe and enjoyable tour for our travelers.

NOTES:
-          The chosen hotels are accessible with accessible lobby, lifts, restaurants
-          There are proper facilities in the bed room and bath room for people on wheelchairs
-          The chosen restaurants are accessible and comfortable to people on wheelchairs
-          16 seat vans will be used as they have low floors and wide doors so more accessible to wheelchairs than other means of transportation.
-          Every wheel-chaired traveller is required to have a helper to push the wheelchair and to help him or her to get on and off the wheelchair. Vietnamese helpers are available for hiring.
