Tay Hilltribe in Ha Giang Vietnam

Their family handicraft is quite developed such as, knitting,  making wooden furniture, pottery. Besides, weaving fabric of Tay is quite well known, especially, the type of blankets, brocade turbans with rich pattern which a lot of people love. Tay ethnic usually wear cotton clothes, dyed indigo, wear silver necklace and silver rings at their wrists and ankles. Their main color on costumes is indigo. The culture of Tay is very diversified with different kind of ceremory involving production, human life, wedding, funeral, new house celebration. The folkloric literature of Tay community are a rich treasure of legends, myths, ancient stories, verse stories, folkloric songs. Of which, Tay’s folkloric songs are well known for song “ glider”- this is a form of culture of the Vietnamese.
Dao ethnic minority

The Dao ethnic group in DVKP can be divided into sub-group such as Red Dao (Dao ??), Coin Dao (Dao ti?n), White Trousers Dao (Dao qu?n tr?ng), Long Robe Dao (Dao áo dài), Lo River Dao (Dao lô giang) who live by slope and terrace farming. The Dao people have some unique handicraft making such as forging, casting, jewellery, embroidery and wax printing-dyeing clothes. They live in stilt, earth or half stilt-half earth houses, close to water sources. Their dresses usually show traditional features and designs using colour thread, with lots of turban, shirt, skirt types. Their traditional religious culture is very complex, demonstrating communal spirit, conscience and conception. Worshiping and wizardry are not simply superstition but something special indicating the depth of their culture. The Dao folkloric literature is very rich in legends, myths, narratic stories, pop songs, quizzes, proverbs implying their communal perception of the universe and human life.

Pho Bang Village Dong Van Ha Giang

Pho Bang, the bustling border town of Dong Van (Ha Giang) seemed tobe forgotten in a few decades ...

In the journey of those who want to find their own self in the remote forest areas , Pho Bang is an indispensable marker.

This border town, not far away geographically, especially when the car can come to the village ... But, a bustling town, a burningtown, a famous town for a few decades ago when opium, drugs  "occupied" ,Pho Bang is just a peace town now.

Lastime,, Pho Bang was the administrative center - the socio-economic of Dong Van district, Ha Giang. However, after the districts of Dong Van is moved deeply about 20km, Pho Bang is as a ... young woman sleeping among the mountains. 

From Dong Van old town,  backwards Pho Bang,you have to go through nearly 20 km road passing  obstacles,  between one side of the deep and the other side of the mountains, you can surprised by the immense of the rogger rock and the green corn in this barren land..

Through Sung La “the only rain source” for this area in  Dong Van, passing  more a forest , Pho Bang suddenly appeared.

This is a rare valley, if you stop in the roadside , looking before and after, turn left and turn right ,you just see the peak of stone moutain. If someone missed their foot, he will stand right on the border of China.

Pho Bang has only two gloomy streets, with several hundred of ancienthouse quietly. Most of people here is  Chinese. There is a small part of Vietnamese living here  but not enough to make the change of lifestyle  in this  mountain town.

Stop among the valley ,you will  feel in the dream. Within a roll on the street, Pho Cao is small and  gentle like a sleeping children. Someone who want to visit  three regions: Pho Cao -Pho Bang - Khau Vai in a peaceful morning, have a hurry thoughts: rasing a bowl of corn wine on the hand,having no time to drink ,starting to find out the way to drunk the girls who selling wine - the water that has dark yellow colour of corn from Quan ba and Meo Vac, which makes the winds on the road having smell of corn wine that is kept in the bud from the interstitial mountains...

The beauty of Sung La village
Coming to Lung Cam culture-tourism village in Sung La commune,Dong Van district,you will have special feelings about human beauty, the character of material culture and non –material culture that is still  preserved here.

The village existed among the romantic valley, with 61 households living in ancient wall houses, the house was made almost 100 years ago. There are three ethnics living together here consist of Lo Lo ethnic, Mong ethnic and Han ethnic. Mong ethinic occupied of 85% of the population in the village and many artists also kept a lot of their national songs such as  folk, folk dancing, musical instruments typical of the nation. They are transmitted through many generations  and have humanism and spirituality in the lives of the people here. Through song and dance, in order to demonstrate the concept, perception of things and phenomena around the world of people here, Mr Mua Van -64-year-old artist said: At present, he still maintained and remember more than 360 folk songs, ethnic songs that was taught by his farther from the children ..

The path to Lung Cam culture –tourism village has concreted to each household, water irrigation system is guaranteed to make a new face of the rural in highlands, but not losing the ancient of the village.The roof is thatched with yin and yang tile where is covered by  the green moss .This shows the survival and challenge after the time. The materials that make up the houses was  produced in place, from the ground to the walls, tiles, wood, and also stone fence around the house.The process for buildings a house of the people living in the North in general and the people living here in particular are 100% handmade. The tools reflect for their lifestyle is an interesting discovery for tourists as they prove for the hardworking of the people living here.Therefore,this palace attacts many photographers, filmmakers and It is also the origination for composing for many works of art, for examplel: Lung Cam village has been selected as the starting film "Story of Pao. "This film has won the award"The Golden Kite "of the Vietnam Cinema Association.

Located right along the 4C highway ,so going to Lung Cam culture-tourism village is very convenient. They are many inbound and outboun tourists coming here each year. The life of the people living here mix together with the natural breath to make a warming space from the house was surrounded by peach trees, sa mu.The gray tile color mixed in gray moutainstone color, in colored brocade, in the colorful dresses of the Mong ,LoLo and Han girls  as the flowers of the forest. All create beautiful paintings on the Dong Van Plateau. Around the village is surrounded by mountains like the walls that protect for the village. Among the stone forest is the green corn fiels that giving the rich harvest,  Economic development also is emphasised here ,so lifestyle of people is improved more and more.Many economic models have achieved remarkable success such as planting rose model that getting tens of millions of dong each year. The attention of committees, local government has created the conditions for the development in Lung Cam culture and tourism village ,with the efforts of the local people, the Lung Cam village would be an attractive place for people to visit and to explore the hidden beauty here.
