05 Days - Venture off The Beaten Track to Ha Giang

Northeast Vietnam is home to various ethnic groups and spectacular mountain passes. Meander off the beaten tourist track to unveil the pristine beauty and traditional flavor of the Northeast unbeknownst to many. Ethnic Voyage will be your guide to show you what is the best of this charming region

Day 01: Hanoi - Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang
The first day of your adventure, drive from Hanoi to Ha Giang, a little township lying beautifully on the bank of the Lo River surrounded by densely forested mountain range.
The scenic route traverses a dense jungle before crossing valley and rice field. Along the way you may encounter the Nung, Tay, Dzao, La Chi and Pa Then, just some of the many hill tribe groups who have settled there.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included

Day 02: Ha Giang - Quan Ba - Yen Minh - Lung Cu - Dong Van

Leave Ha Giang for the rock plateau of Dong Van. Sightseeing en route as you pass over Quan Ba, known as Heaven Gate, leaving the winding roads, passes behind and below, it is a great panoramic view over the vast mountain areas before arriving at Yen Minh-a beautiful valley nested in the mountains.
Drive to Pho Bang and walk through “the town falling into the oblivion” inhabited by the Hoa and H’Mong people. The local people keep to their quiet lifestyle in the clay houses decorated with a pair of couplets written in Chinese scripts with wishes of good luck and prosperity.
The last stretch of the drive goes through Dong Van rock plateau, an open geology museum, to Lung Cu Flag Tower. This is the northernmost point of the country and the dividing point between Vietnam and China. Soak into the scenery with Lo Lo ethnic minority villages around. After that, drive to Dong Van town to spend the night.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included

Day 03: Dong Van - Meo Vac - Bao Lac - Tinh Tuc - Cao Bang

After breakfast at hotel, visit Dong Van central market, which takes place every Sunday in the early mornings and the former residence of the Hmong King who once ruled the H’mong Autonomous Region.
Then drive to Meo Vac, where most of the road has been simply cut into the side of a cliff face. See the mountain market (Sundays only). Below, the Nho Que river flows and above, the towering cliff rises to the clouds; a truly beautiful gorge below is one of the most spectacular natural sights in the country before zigzagging to Cao Bang.
 Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included

Day 04: Cao Bang - Ban Gioc Fall - Ba Be Lake

Following breakfast at hotel. Drive to Trung Khanh village to visit Ban Gioc waterfall. Lying on the borderline with China, Ban Gioc is arguably the most beautiful waterfalls in northern Vietnam. You will raft along the stream and get close-up photos of the fall (not full of water in the dry season and there may be no green field around the waterfall if you go in the harvest time).
You may also take a short trek up the source of the waterfalls with incredible surrounding and enjoy lunch near the waterfall.
In the afternoon, drive south-west to Bac Kan province, home to Ba Be (meaning Three Lakes) National Park. Upon arrival in Ba Be Lake, check into a local homestay of the Tay minority.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included

Day 05: Ba Be Lake - Hanoi

You may wish to take a short walk around the village or by the edge of the lake this morning. Enjoy a boat ride in this tranquil Lake and if time permits, you will visit the 300m-long cave which was a shelter during the wartime and explore the Dau Dang waterfall.
