Ho Chi Minh City to My Tho (42 kilometers)
Rise early and be driven from Ho Chi Minh City to Tan An and get acquainted with your bicycle. Then enjoy a 40a kilometer ride along a combination of well paved, sand and dirt paths. After a short break at Cao Dai Temple, cycle to Vinh Trang pagoda. In My Tho go on board a boat and drive around the four Islets: Dragon, Unicorn, Tortoise and Phoenix on Tien River. Through Xep canal visit traditional Mekong houses at Quoi An village (made all from coconut tree). Taste honey with tea or wine; have a look at the coconut collection sets and see how the locals make handicrafts from coconut trunk and shell. Take the horse-cart on a village path to Ben Truc orchard, enjoy seasonal fruits, listen to traditional music and see bees-breeding in wooden boxes at a local farm. Take the rowing-boat trip down Coconut Creek. Then, visit a local coconut candy workshop, taste candies, a specialty of this province.
