At 8.00am, we’ll depart Hanoi and drive on to Thay Pagoda ( the Master's Pagoda ), also known as Thien Phuc ( Heavenly Blessing ). The complex also has some charming temples some linked by 17th century Chinese-style covered bridges.
Our next stop is the Tay Phuong Pagoda ( Pagoda of the West ), also known as Sung Phuc Pagoda, consists of three parallel single-level structures built on a hillock said to resemble a buffalo. The present structure dates from the 18th century and is renowned for its impressive collection of 76 wooden statues depicting the Buddha and other middle ranking Buddhist deities such as Vairapanis and Arhats.
After a picnic lunch and short break, we will enjoy our afternoon session by visiting Duong Lam Ancient village - a rich historical site with beautiful old houses, churches and temples of the two famous King Phung Hung and Ngo Quyen.
