05 Days - Hanoi, Halong Bay and Lan Ha bay

This five nights program explores Vietnam's capital city, Hanoi, and includes a journey to Halong Bay, the picturesque UNESCO world heritage site famous for it's natural beauty and the thousands of limestone karst mountains, caves, and grottoes that dot the bay. The journey begins in Hanoi, where you will visit famous sites such as the Temple of Literature, One Pillar Pagoda, and the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Complex. The French colonial architecture is evident in many of the buildings, villas, and mansions, as well as in the wide leafy boulevards around the city. Hanoi is also a city of beautiful lakes, and a fun highlight will be a ride through the streets of the Old Quarter aboard a cyclo. For the palate, there are many excellent restaurants in the city serving the very best in Vietnamese cuisine. Another side of Vietnam's north comes alive when you visit Halong, which translates as "Descending Dragon Bay." The best way to explore Halong Bay and it's scenic karsts is aboard a luxurious four-star wooden junk. See the scenic attractions by day and then unwind in the evening over cocktails at sunset and a delicious dinner. The program concludes back in Hanoi for a final night.

Day 01: Hanoi
Arrive at Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport and transfer by sedan to your hotel in Hanoi.

Day 02: Hanoi
Full-day private tour of Hanoi City including a ride through the Old Quarter by cyclo (rickshaw). Visit the Temple of Literature, One Pillar Pagoda, Ho Chi Minh Memorial Complex, Ho Chi Minh's Stilt House, Hoan Kiem Lake, and view colonial landmarks such as the Opera House and St. Joseph's Cathedral. A highlight today is a fun ride through the streets of the Old Quarter by cyclo. Finish the day by seeing a Water Puppet Show, a fantastic art form originating in Northern Vietnam but best seen in Hanoi. (breakfast, lunch).

Day 03: Halong Bay - Lan Ha Bay
Travel by sedan from Hanoi to Hai Phong and get speed boat to picturesque Halong Bay. Upon arrival set sail on an overnight trip aboard a wooden junk through the magical bay, where thousands of sculpted limestone islands rise from the waves like dragons teeth. After lunch you may take a short trek to a nearby summit for a panoramic view of the bay, swim on a quiet beach, or sunbathe on the deck. In the late afternoon visit a interesting fishing village and at sunset enjoy a kayak ride in a scenic coral lagoon. Lunch and dinner is served onboard the junk. (breakfast, lunch, dinner).

Day 04: Halong Bay - Lan Ha Bay - Catba island - Hanoi
Early risers can greet the day with a morning Tai Chi exercise with an opportunity to view the sunrise over the bay. After breakfast visit a beautiful limestone grotto before returning back at the departure pier. Get speed boat back to Hai Phong.  Return to Hanoi by sedan. (breakfast, lunch).

Day 05: Depart Hanoi
Transfer to Hanoi International Airport. (breakfast).
