Cao Bang - Far North, Vietnam

Mountainous Cao Bang province is one of the most beautiful regions in Vietnam. Cao Bang itself is more prosaic, but it is a useful base to explore the surrounding countryside. The climate is mild here, and winter days can get chilly when a thick fog clings to the banks of the Bang Giang River. Ban Gioc Falls Lays on the border of Vietnam and  China. It is considered to be the largest waterfall in Vietnam. Ban Gioc Falls are made out of three main waterfalls, On the wet season (from May through September) sometimes due to heavy rain the falls combine into one massive waterfall). Ban Gioc is actually the Vietnamese name, in China the falls are called  Detian falls.  The falls are little more than 200 meters wide and drops for more than 70 meters with 3 different levels (the tallest drop is around 30 meters)
